Wren Sterling appoints new Chief Operating Officer

Wren Sterling has appointed Carolanne Robinson as its new Chief Operating Officer. Robinson joins Wren Sterling from Tilney where she was a senior member of its operations team for thirteen years.

Robinson replaces outgoing COO, Jonathan Merry, who has been in place since the buyout of Wren Sterling from Towergate Insurance in March 2015. Merry will stay during a transition period to help the national IFA manage MiFID II and GDPR implementation in 2018.

Ian Halley, Wren Sterling’s Chief Executive Officer said: “At this stage of our evolution we are looking to develop our processes to further improve our client service. Through her experience with Tilney, Carolanne has a deep understanding of our sector, which will help us deal with the challenges we face as we continue to grow and invest in our business.”

Halley acknowledged the contribution of outgoing COO, Merry: “Jonathan has steered Wren Sterling through some considerable operational and strategic challenges with great skill during his time here and leaves us in a very healthy state. I wish him well in the next stage of his career.”

Carolanne Robinson, Wren Sterling’s new Chief Operating Officer said: “Wren Sterling has the client focus, the people and the technology in place to provide an even better service to our clients.

“This opportunity was too good for me to turn down and I’m delighted to be leading a very capable and passionate team on the next step of Wren Sterling’s transformation.”
