    Austin Hutchinson

    Financial Planning Director
    Austin Hutchinson is Wren Sterling’s Financial Planning Director. Austin joined Wren Sterling as a result of the Mutual Financial Management acquisition, which completed in late 2022. Austin was a founding partner of Mutual, growing the business from initial conception to overseeing assets of nearly £700m. Austin has over 20 years' experience as a financial planner and continues to practice, bringing a different dynamic to the Wren Sterling Leadership Team. Austin is also an Executive Director of MFDM, the Wren Sterling Group's discretionary fund management business. Read more
  • Steve Bingham

    Steve Bingham

    Regional Director
    Steve has been a financial adviser since 1988 although he graduated with a 2i BSC (hons) from Birmingham University in 1986 in Chemical Engineering. He became and independent financial adviser in 1990 working for Lowndes Lambert and then moved to Greystone where he became a shareholding director. In 1996 he was awarded the worshipful prize for top marks in the Advanced Financial Planning Exams. While at Greystone he studied a Masters of Business administration in Financial Accounting and Management at the prestigious Manchester Business School, where he achieved a 1st class honours degree with distinction. In 2006 he set up Mutual Financial Advisers which became Mutual Financial Management later that year. In 2022 Wren Sterling bought Mutual with £750m under advisement and Steve retains a director role still concentrating on providing holistic financial planning to his clients with emphasis on wealth management. In 2020 he studied for his investment management qualifications and again achieve distinction (90%). In his spare time Steve flies Helicopters and Gyrocopters (in which he obtained an instructor rating), is a Man United season ticket holder and a keen gardener. When he gets the time he also frequents the gym but not as often as he would like. Read more

    Darren has worked in Financial Services for over 16 years working both as a Independent Financial Adviser and a Mortgage Adviser. In this time he has undertaken a significant number of qualifications, the most recent being the Diploma for Financial Advice in 2017. Fundamentally, Darren sees himself as a problem solver for his clients. In a fast-changing world Darren is a firm believer in educating his clients in all areas. As a result, his clients can expect to receive the most comprehensive and appropriate advice at all times. Darren is married to Annmarie, has two children called Daisy and Albie and a chocolate Labrador called Dino. He enjoys spending time in the outdoors, sports, music and travelling. Read more

    Craig joined the financial services industry back in 1994 as a Financial Consultant with Prudential, becoming an independent financial adviser in 2000 and becoming a pensions specialist by passing the advanced pensions exam with distinction. In 2017 Craig became a fully accredited member of the Society of Later Life Advisers (SOLLA). This involves providing advice to clients in later life who are potentially vulnerable and therefore a significant amount of additional training and experience is required in order to attain this accreditation. He is also a dementia friend as he works with care homes advising on Long Term Care solutions as well as advising attorneys and solicitors who also work within this field. Outside of work, Craig is an active gym goer and follow my football team, Wigan Athletic, whenever I can and one of my proudest moments was seeing my son, now 21, playing for the youth teams. Craig and his wife are also keen travelers. Read more
