Wren Sterling remembers Queen Elizabeth II

It is with great sadness that we learn of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth Il, who devoted her life to her people with unwavering dedication.

For many of us, Queen Elizabeth is the only sovereign we’ve ever known. Amidst wars, political upheavals, economic crises and dramatic shifts in society, technology and the way we live our lives, she has been a constant and, for many, reassuring presence.  It is strange to think of a future without her.

Hers was a life of duty in service of her people. The parallel between how she inspired us only recently during Covid and her service in World War II as a teenager – determined to play her part – is striking. The fact that she did this for 70 years, never faltering until the very end, despite the loss of her husband and her advancing years, is remarkable.

We honour Her Majesty’s lifetime of service and the unique contribution she made to the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth and the rest of the world. And we extend our deepest condolences to His Majesty the King and the Royal Family.

God Save the King
